Kindergarten

He's ready!

He's got his spiffy new camo backpack and waterbottle, what else does a kid need.

The line up...

the head count by Mrs. Helgeson...

and off he goes.
My baby is in school, I can't believe it. Now mom has to pull herself together and get to work.

Happy Birthday to our Super Special Smart Six year old

We helped Landen celebrate his "birthday season" (don't know where he got that from) by taking a trip to the Mall of America for a few rides on the roller coaster and a volcano cake at the Rain Forest Cafe. We spent the night at a hotel in the cities where we have a good time swimming. We wrapped up the birthday adventure with a round of miniature golf today.

Landen also tried out the pogo stick he got for his birthday, he now realizes it's harder than it looks. Hopefully he'll stick with it and get it figured out though.

Summer wrap up

It's hard to believe summer is coming to an end. I've been back at work that past two weeks and Landen starts school tomorrow. But we've still been busy. Here's what we've been up to the past two weeks.

Last weekend Al and Cindy stopped by so we headed to Pioneer Power Association Days. I was thinking it was bad timing for them to have this since the state fair was running but apparently everyone with an old tractor in the area would rather be here. I was a gorgeous day and Landen, Brant, and Al enjoyed looking over all the equipment.

Landen decided he wanted to try the pedal pull, below Al is coaching him on technique and getting him pumped up for his run. Looks interested doesn't he?

The steam tractors were fun to see,...

I'm glad I wasn't one of the volunteers for the steam thrashing demo

Landen and Brant went out fishing, well mostly swimming with our friends Lauren and Mike. Afterwards Mackenna and I joined them for a great meal, unfortunately no fish was served.

Mackenna had a conversation with the dog

And Landen and I rode a camel at the Steele County fair.
