Whitewater State Park

Last weekend we decided to explore a few of Minnesota's State Parks. Whitewater had many activities scheduled for visitors, Landen decided to participate in archery...

and a little fishing. No luck though, we think the trout we're very happy with all the rain runoff into their river.

The only place the kids actually will volunteer to help with the dishes.

Since the weather was crummy most of Saturday we took a little drive down to Mystery Cave State Park and Historic Forestville. Mackenna loved the chickens, below I believe she was strutting like a chicken.

Mystery Cave - a lovely but chilly hour long tour where we got to experience the rain through drips from the cave ceiling and running water down the cave walls. Showing us first hand how the cave was formed.

The sun finally returned on Sunday so we took a trip to the beach before departing.

Landen spent much of his time catching tadpoles in all stages of development and moving them to his pool. No worries, all were returned safely to the river before we left.

  1. Looks like you had a nice weekend. Sometimes exploring places close to home without a long drive turn out to be the best vacations.
