We headed for Duluth for an overnight over Memorial Day weekend. Our adventure began with the Timber Twister, an alpine rollercoaster that runs through the woods on Spirit Mountain. It was great fun, you could control the speed but Landen's motto was "the faster, the funner".
We got checked in to our hotel and checked out Canal Park

We even got to see a huge ship come in under the lift bridge. I think there might have been some pirates on that boat, we heard them say Arr Mateys as they passed under the bridge.
We returned to our hotel patio for a little marshmallow roasting...Mackenna couldn't wait for hers to roast.
We headed to the beach on Monday morning but it was a blustery chilly day so that visit didn't last very long.
Our final stop was a tour of the William A. Irvin. Landen was mesmerized, I don't think I heard a peep out of him during the entire 1 hour tour.
The guests room would definitely be the place to stay should you need to voyage aboard the Irvin.
On Monday we exchanged Landen for Mackenna's new balance bike when we met up with Grandma Jean and Grandma Elaine in Duluth. Landen went and spent the week up north. When we left Duluth it was 41 degrees, we arrived home to 88 degree heat giving Mackenna the opportunity to try out her new bike, it's sure to cause many hours of frustration for her right now as she tries to learn balance.
